Truffle and wine festival in Cabardès
The 'Ampélos' set the ball rolling on the Saturday in Montolieu, with literary events with Cabardès truffle and wine tastings. In Ventenac-Cabardès, a truffle cooking workshop, with Occitan flavouring, will tickle your taste buds. In Pennautier, there are talks on regional themes (Occitan, Vines, Truffles).
On the Sunday, it's festival time, with a market and tastings in the place du Calcadis in Moussoulens.
The village comes to life with 80 stalls in the little streets. You'll find local produce; honey, charcuterie, cheeses, pastries... And don't forget the small, but inventive, Cabardès appellation wines.
The star of the day is in the spotlight as soon as the market opens. But it shines brightly throughout the day, particularly at lunchtime. You can taste the truffles, satisfying your curiosity and appetite, with some delicious truffle potatoes, from €1.50, or a succulent truffle omelette, €3.
From 10:00am, the public can join in and learn all about the black diamond on one of the wine and truffle walks, or at a demonstration of truffle hunting with the dogs.
Street shows bring a sparkle to Moussoulens and children can enjoy the various games and visit the mini-farm.
The day also includes a vine trimming competition and a cooking competition.
