Events in the 'terroir'
Wine is linked to truffles, another quality regional product in the middle of winter, during the Ampélofolies festival in Moussoulens, in January. there, you can taste Cabardès wines, accompanied by some gourmet cooking based on truffles. A large market and a whole range of events complete the day.
The summer truffle, less well known, but just as aromatic, is celebrated in the 'Truffes et terroir' festival in Roullens, in June.
'Vignobles & découvertes' also includes the food festival, 'Goût de France', in Greater Carcassonne: over 3 days there are workshops and unusual discoveries, wines matured in the gouffre géant de Cabrespine or a wine and insect tasting! During the final day of the festival, the Sunday in Carcassonne, there is a fantastic array of culinary workshops, events and professional demonstrations, organised by the Prosper Montagné gastronomic club. You can learn and taste in a festive atmosphere!
Those who know all about the Carcassonne master of gastronomy, also celebrate Saint Vincent, the patron saint of wine makers, with a parade and traditional meal in Carcassonne in January.

Each Thursday in summer, a Malepère wine maker will offer you a tasting in the wine bar on their estate, often with a little something to eat and music. There's a great atmosphere for the 'Les Jeudis de la Malepère'!
And there are concerts in the vineyards, like at Saint-Jacques d’Albas where there's a beautiful blend of marvel, wine and music!
